My tips for how to remake your life for the better in three simple steps.
I have lived a very intentional life over the last five years, and went from a pretty dark place with a lot of debt to a flourishing one, and I want to help you do the same. Gary Keller said something a long time ago that stuck with me, and it is: “We overestimate what we can accomplish in a year, but underestimate what we can accomplish in five years.”
As I look back on the last five years and how I went from a negative $250,000 net worth with over $75,000 in credit card debt to now having over $2 million in assets, I realize his quote is so true. If you are intentional, you can bring yourself from dark to light. Here are the three ways I did this and my three tips for you:
1. Be intentional about your career. I got very intentional about my real estate business, and I became a student to learn how to be a business owner instead of only being a real estate agent. That meant getting clear about my profit and loss, hiring a coach, reading lots of resources, and going to classes.
2. Downsize your living expenses and lifestyle. Since we were already in a lot of debt, we had to shrink our living expenses. We kept a very shrunken lifestyle when it came to how we lived as we began to make money. This then allowed us to rapidly pay down debt.
3. Invest in real estate. After we got out of our bad purchase, our first purchase was a two-family home. From there, we bought other investment properties instead of only moving into a house that fit our new income level. Again, we maintained a very minimal lifestyle so we could take the extra money that we were earning and invest it.
Those are the three ways that I went from a pretty stressful position in life to a very comfortable place where I am an active real estate investor and business owner, and I am living a life by design. If you have any questions or if you’re struggling yourself and need someone to chat with about how to get your finances in order, give me a call. I’m happy to help!
