A question we commonly receive from new agents is, “I just got my license; what should I do next?” It’s very easy to get overwhelmed by the learning curve; there are many programs and apps, and you could spend all day in classes, but none of that will truly grow your business.

The very first thing you should do is make a spreadsheet of 250 complete contacts. A complete contact is their full name, email address, phone number, and mailing address. Those contacts can come from the people who know, like, and trust you—your friends, family, neighbors, etc.

You may get to around 100 contacts and not know who else to add, but you have Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and your phone’s contact list. Start going through your friends on those platforms and asking them for updated contact information.
